Our Founders Journey
As pharmacists with 50 years of combined experience, Jake and Claudio have witnessed firsthand the challenges and limitations of our current healthcare model. From their early days in hospital settings and with pharmaceutical companies, they grappled with the unpredictability of treatment outcomes and reliance on anecdotal evidence.
Claudio recalls the thousands of occasions of being asked by prescribers to recommend medication treatment, unsure if patients would respond optimally. Jake, with his experience in primary care clinics, saw the struggles of healthcare providers in selecting proper treatment regimens, often without a clear clinical evidence base to guide them.
"We were small fish in a massive ocean," Claudio reflects, "wondering where we could make a real impact."It was their shared experiences and frustrations that led Jake and Claudio to seek a better way. They recognized the need for a more precise, data-driven approach to healthcare – one that could unlock the true potential of personalized medicine.
Their eureka moment came when they met Patrick, the visionary behind Liquid Biosciences, an AI-powered evolutionary computing platform that uncovers hidden biomarkers and their patterns, ultimately determining treatment response. Suddenly, the elusive concept of "precision medicine" became a tangible reality.
"We saw the tools we needed to develop a true precision approach to treating patients," Jake explains. "As pharmacists, we're trained to make optimal therapeutic recommendations, and this was the key to unlocking our full potential.
"Fueled by their passion for improving patient outcomes and reducing waste in the healthcare system, Jake and Claudio knew they had to act. In November of 2022, they founded Ignite Biomedical, a company dedicated to leveraging the power of AI and evolutionary computing to transform the way we approach the diagnosis and management of chronic disease.
"It resonates with patients, physicians, and payers alike," Claudio says. "We're hitting all of the essential aspects of healthcare delivery – improving patient outcomes, reducing costs, and empowering clinicians to make better-informed decisions.
